Hibiscus Children's Center - Shuckers throws a party

On Aug. 20, Shuckers on the Beach. located in Jensen Beach, celebrated its second birthday by throwing a big party to thank all their customers.

They provided a huge buffet of free food and drinks. Owners Tony and Karen Carpentier went a step further and had all donations benefit Hibiscus Children’s Center.

The Carpentiers also have the children that reside at the Jensen Beach shelter visit the restaurant during the Christmas season for a visit from Santa Claus and a lunch party.

Hibiscus Children’s Center was founded in 1985 by LaVaughn Tilton, and since then has served abused, abandoned and neglected children on the Treasure Coast through a variety of programs.
